TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I taught special education in public school for 31 years. I have worked in a private school for students on the Autism Spectrum or have other significant communication disorders. We are a DIR school and work diligently to provide students with rich hands on learning experiences. Our students participate in weekly hippotherapy and actively work an organic garden that supplies produce and eggs to local restaurants. We use real photos as often as possible when developing lesson plans and activities.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Students with ASD are most likely to respond positively when teachers are willing to teach to the students' affinities.
