TEACHING EXPERIENCE

30+ years developing and teaching social studies/ELA content and skills to students of all abilities. Published two books: Blue's River (2019) for grades 3-6 - an environmental history of a local river; and Allies for Justice (2007) for grades 7-9 - the story of the role that Delaware played in the Brown versus Board of Education case.

I'm not big into content presentation (although I can do it as well as the best of 'em). Love getting kids debating, questioning, cooperating, creating.

Published "Debates Made Easy" in Jan/Feb 2007 issue of Social Education: Middle Level Learning. Adjunct instructor for the University of Delaware's History Standards Institute, 1999-2004. Dr. Theodore Sizer was my guru. Couldn't have been successful in the classroom without my amazing spouse. Greatest accomplishment = Raised two fabulous kids.
