TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I taught 7th-12th grade NCTM and CCSS Math in urban, public school. I wrote most of these projects while teaching 8th-10th grade Math in an independent school. I now train teachers in instruction and pedagogy. My favorite topics include writing rigorous assessments, backwards planning, and making everything constructivist and culturally relevant.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I live for project based learning and using Math to better understand real world scenarios. Most of my resources are exploratory; students must look for patterns to help them solve problems or draw conclusions. I never flat-out give away an answer!

I attended a private school from 2nd to 12th grade. I received my Bachelor's degree from Illinois Wesleyan University and my Masters in Secondary Math Education from Johns Hopkins University.
