As of 2015-16, I have 34 years of experience in the educational setting. I started my career by initiating the Hearing Impaired Program in Osceola County (Florida) where I worked with students ages 8-12 years. In 1986 I started the Pre-K Speech and Language Program in the same county. I transferred to Seminole County (Florida) in 1988 where I currently work as a speech/language pathologist (pre-k through 5th grade.) My experience also includes working with autistic and emotionally impaired students as well.
I strongly believe that teaching students with a strong creative approach with "hands-on" interactive games and activities enrich their academic success in the classroom. The rewards are their smiles and the "When can we do that again?" responses after the activity is completed.
I am a writer for Mailbox Magazine which is an "idea magazine for teachers. Finalist for Teacher of the Year in 2006-2007 Nominated Teacher of the Year 2013-14 and another year that I can't remember!
