This power point goes beyond my call number power point, and explains the Dewey Decimal System. It is a very basic explanation, as I work with elementary students mostly. It could also make a great review for older students.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I'm an elementary school librarian at a rural school in Louisiana. My focus in the library is on informational resources. I also try to make sure every student gets a book they can read each week!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I'm more of a laid back librarian. If there are students in the library we are doing an activity and it usually involves talking, using voters, or moving around. The children also like discussing their book choices, and I find it hard to tell them to stay quiet when they are doing that!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor's in History with a concentration in Secondary Education. I went back to for my Master's in Education at the University of New Orleans. While there I completed the K-12 library sciences certification.

I'm very new to Teachers Pay Teachers so enjoy what I have so far! I will be adding new items soon, and hopefully creating better and better items!
