  • Teaching Experience

    I have 15 years teaching experience in grades PreK through 2nd grade. I also worked for the OK State Department of Education on a grant for including children with disabilities in the least restrictive environment. I am blessed to work with teachers from all over the United States providing professional development in literacy, math, technology, differentiated instruction, and the Common Core State Standards. I continue to volunteer in early childhood classrooms and help 1st year teachers with classroom management and creating a community of learners.   • My Teaching Style

    My teaching style is very hands on while incorporating movement, music, technology, and multiple strategies for learning. I write songs for teaching and create multimedia files, Smart Board Activities, books, and literacy centers. Since differentiating instruction is a passion of mine, I try to ensure all of my products meet the needs of a wide range of learners.

  • Shining Teacher Moment

    I received my National Board Certification as an Early Childhood Generalist in 2002 and just recently recertified as an NBCT EC Gen in October 2011. Other Awards: District Teacher of the Year in 2008 Friends of Children Award from the OK Institute on Childhood Advocacy for the inclusion of children with special needs in my early childhood classroom.

    I have a BSED in Early Childhood Education and a MSED in Special Education.
