I have enjoyed over 25 years of teaching --- high school and middle school special ed (particularly learning disabilities), 6th grade, elementary principal and teacher of 1-4, staff developer, middle school assistant principal and director of teaching and learning for elementary education and high school digital transformation. I have also spent time working in schools in the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, and Trinidad with ELL learnings.
I have been in many positions but always continue teaching and enjoy getting right in there to do the hard work of teaching the students. I enjoy hands on, real world lessons that are differentiated for all the uniqueness of the children. I love to use what they know to grab and pull them into what is new and challenging. I really enjoy working with students who have difficulties learning as I find their challenges a way to challenge my own thinking. I still believe that teaching is the single best career in the world.
The honor I love is the smile of the students. I have received honors for Middle School State Teacher of the Year Principal in Support of Gifted and Talented Education from WAGT Golden Apple Teacher of Distinction
