Have been teaching for over 19 years. I have always worked with young children and currently teach Kindergarten. I have also taught K-1. I am a Reading Recovery trained teacher and I currently do literacy intervention for first grade students in the afternoon after my Kinder class has gone home. I love my job!!!
I am a creative practitioner of the teaching arts. My classroom is a place where young students can learn and grow using a variety of media and modalities. We do lots of arts, crafts, games and hands on learning experiences that engage children in the collaborative work of learning together. There are many opportunities for critical thinking and creative expression each day. We do lots of small group activities as well as whole group learning. I always try to make my classroom a wonderful place to be each day.
