I have always worked with young children and currently teach kindergarten. Yes, I am still a full time classroom teacher! I am trained in Reading Recovery and I do literacy intervention for first grade students after my partial day kinder class has gone home. I absolutely LOVE my job!!!
I consider myself creative practitioner of the teaching arts. My classroom is a vibrant place where young students can learn and grow using a variety of media and modalities. We do lots of arts, crafts, games and hands on learning experiences that engage children in the collaborative work of learning together. There are many opportunities for critical thinking and creative expression each day. I want my students to LOVE learning and I consider that the most important part of my job.
