I am a diagnostic resource coordinator for my elementary school and I am the special education co-teacher for kindergarten. I have been creating comprehensive goal based interventions for the past six years. 75% of my school's student body come from low-income households- many of whom are bilingual.
I love to incorporate music, movement and games into all of my goal based interventions and whole group co-taught lessons. I differentiate my lessons to meet the needs of all of my students. I attempt to use my students interests to target their areas of weakness. It is important for all students to feel successful so that they are invested in the lessons we are teaching them!
University of Dayton: Bachelors of Science: Intervention Specialist- Mild to moderate: learning disabilities, behavior disorders, and emotional disorders. Passed both Praxis I and II before moving to Illinois where I received my Illinois teaching certificate (type 10 LBSI 1).
I am a special education co-teacher in an inclusion school district.
