TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I'm in my 7th year teaching first grade at a small, Catholic school. My building is the site for the K-2 students. I teach in a self-contained classroom, which means I am also the music, art, and gym teacher! To help out the other teachers at my building I have taught K/1 and 1/2 classes in science, art, writing, and religion.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe in reaching all learners. Each child needs a safe space in which mistakes are accepted and success can be reached. I am a role model and guide; I am blessed to be a small (but memorable) part of their educational journey.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

* Top 100 finalist for Scholastic Online Mentor * Supportive Consultant Training * Barton Tutor Training, levels 1-5 * Outstanding Student Teacher Award

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Viterbo University (La Crosse, WI) in 2006. I have completed my PDP and advanced to a Professional Educator License. I have continued to take many continuing education courses and love to keep learning!

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I'm a wife, mom, teacher, sister, and friend. It's a busy life, but I'm enjoying every minute of it! I truly love helping others and creating awesome, engaging experience for my students.
