TEACHING EXPERIENCE

12 years in the Howard County Public School System (Maryland). Grades Taught: Preschool, Prekindergarten, Kindergarten, and First Grade. I was a special educator in preschool, prekindergarten, and kindergarten. I was a classroom teacher in first grade. I currently teach kindergarten as a general education (classroom) teacher.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My Fundamental Teaching Beliefs: - I believe that all children are capable of greatness. - I believe that establishing a safe, caring classroom community is a cornerstone of effective early childhood learning. - I believe that young children are capable of mastering academically rigorous standards through developmentally appropriate and hands-on instruction. - I believe that school is a place for children to have FUN while learning!

National Board Certification, 2007- Early Childhood Generalist. Local Recognition- Parent nominations to the Special Education Citizen's Advisory Committee for working with students with disabilities. School Recognition- Finalist for Exceptional Classroom Teacher, 2012-2013 school year.
