I've been teaching science since 2010. I have taught 7th grade Integrated Science, 8th Grade Integrated Science, and 9th Grade Earth Systems. I have also taught science teachers. For two summers I worked with science teachers through the NASA Summer of Innovation program, a program that focuses almost entirely on hands-on and brains-on curriculum to build in students an interest and enthusiasm for STEM subjects. I recently led the year-long professional development series for science teachers in our district when we adopted the Next Generation Science Standards.
I love to keep my students engaged! Whenever possible I like to bring manipulatives, hands-on activities, or out-of-seat learning into my classroom. I also get a big kick out of effective, easy organization systems and routines in my classroom. My curriculum is: --engaging --visually reinforcing --visually appealing --hands-on --full of discussions I have been especially complimented on the many games I have created. --games with science content --games for classroom management I will also include plans for: --quick, easy classroom organization --classroom procedures and routines that the students enjoy and perform well, and that teachers love because it frees up time and reduces headaches! --effective classroom management techniques/systems Thanks for checking out my stuff! Hope you enjoy!
