24 years ago I began my quest in education. I spend 2 years being a paraprofessional for physically and mentally handicapped children and as a substitute. The other 22 years have been spend teaching 1st through 5th grades as a classroom and Title I Teacher. I have also served as a reading intervention teacher, Title I Specialist and now a writing coach.
Hands on and real life application is my aim. I love adding spice into my lessons. I know that learning will stick when I deliver concepts in this manner. Movement is also very important to me as I plan for lessons. Life is too short to sit still for any significant amount of time.
Wyoming Teacher of the Week, National Board Certification Award
I had a poor elementary education experience. Sometimes what we lack as a youngster can fuel a passion. This is the case with me. I do not want another student to be bored and over looked in their education. Learning is incredible to experience! I get so excited when my students or I learn something. Everyday I let kids know that they will learn something! I received my BA for Chadron State College and completed my National Board Certification just this year! Best professional development experience ever, and I've had a lot.
