I was an elementary teacher for 5 years with experience in kindergarten, 3rd, and 2nd grade. My 3-5 years of teaching I taught only math and science. My passion was making math fun for students. After I had my son, I left the classroom to stay home with him. I now have 3 kids - my 3 year old son, and twin girls who are one - and we are getting ready to embark on our homeschool journey! Currently our focus is on natural learning through play. I am inspired by Montessori but have no formal training, simply love the philosophy!
I am Montessori-inspired but don't follow practices 100%. I love the philosophy and believe in meeting children where they are at and supporting their learning with hands-on experiences and practical life. Currently we do a lot of sensory play.

I graduated as the Valedictorian from a small private, Christian school in Texas in 2012. Having already earned some college credit while in high school, I took some classes the following year on a local college campus, some online, and tested out of some courses for credit, and was able to complete my Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies in just one year! I graduated from Thomas Edison State College in 2013, and then began working on my teaching certification through an alternative certification program. I landed my first teaching job shortly after completing my certification in 2014 -- and the rest is history!
