I'm in my fifth year teaching high school, currently in the San Francisco Bay area. I'm currently the English II lead teacher, in charge of designing sophomore curriculum. I have a Master's degree in Education, specializing in Curriculum and Instruction.
My focus is making English relevant and relatable. Whether students are advanced, at grade level, or below, they will do better if they connect with the text on a personal level and see the relevance in what they're doing. I try to build from students' own experience and connect texts to current events. No what what students end up doing in life, a solid foundation in critical thinking, reading, and writing will serve them well.
