TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This is my 13th year of teaching, and my 8th year of teaching gifted education. I taught Special Education for five years prior.

MY TEACHING STYLE

The district that I work in places a lot of emphasis on research in the gifted classes, so basically every unit we do revolves around some type of research. It takes a while to teach students how to research, but by the end of their 2nd year at our school, they are researching like pros!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a BS in Psychology; a Master's (MAT) in Elementary Education; Special Education Endorsement; and a Gifted Endorsement.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

As a full-time educator and mother of three boys, I don't have a whole lot of "extra" time on my hands. However, when I do, I enjoy developing new units for my gifted students or reading a good mystery!
