I have been a certified teacher for 18 years. Currently, I am a teacher of gifted and talented elementary school students, but I previously taught as a multi-age classroom teacher (of 5 through 11 year old students) and as an enrichment specialist for individualized computer instruction. In addition to writing and publishing fiction and non-fiction books, I work as a consultant providing enrichment and extension challenges for teachers, parents of homeschooled students, and for privately schooled students. I am on my school district's science leadership committee and Art and Science of Teaching committee.
My teaching style is very hands-on and interdisciplinary. I strive to connect each of my lessons to real-life experiences and and above all am thrilled when I see students loving learning.

I have a BA in elementary education and an M.Ed. in the education of gifted and talented students. My post-grad studies focus on literacy, science, mathematics, and technology.
I am the proud mom of twins, owner of an oyster farm (Norumbega Oyster, Inc.), 4-H leader, member of my town's budget committee, and avid writer/creator. In my free time I enjoy gardening, painting, gold-smithing, doing yoga, playing with my pets, and reading.
