I have been teaching since 1996. Taught First Grade for 3 years, K for 15 years, and now am teaching Special Needs Pre-K with 3 and 4 year olds. I have 2 children of my own. A 14 year old girl and an 18 year old boy. My son is on the Autism Spectrum, so I have a lot of experience with special needs kids both in and out of the classroom.
I believe in a more "hands on" learning style with centers. However, my teaching style adapts to the students in my classroom, and changes with each new thing I learn. I never teach exactly the same way each year.
Lots of LOVE from my parents and students! :-) I have been nominated for teacher of the year at my school numerous times, but never won...just being nominated is always an honor!

I have learned so much about teaching through my own 2 children. I believe you can be a good teacher when you do not have children of your own...but being a parent gives you such a unique perspective. I have totally changed my teaching style and my philosophy on homework as my children have grown.
