While earning my Master's degree I taught several 10th and 12th grade English classes, incorporating SAT prep-work into the classroom on a regular basis. As a tutor I worked exclusively with high school students who were looking to improve their SAT scores on the reading, writing, and essay sections.
I believe that students learn best when they get to pick the activities they want to participate in. I also think that high school is a time for students to begin to take ownership of their learning, including self-pacing. All of my materials can be used in a variety of different ways that promote student choice and self-pacing, resulting in increased investment and better learning outcomes.
Yet to be added
I completed my B.A. in English language & literature in 2010 from Longwood University. I then earned my Master's in Teaching with a concentration in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Through this degree I received my teaching license in English (9th-12th grade) and Language Arts (6th-8th grade).
I really enjoy making materials that help students improve their reading/writing SAT scores in order to set them up for college admissions success.
