Special Education and General Education teacher (grades 2-4) since 2004.
I feel there is a need for strong, compassionate, and dedicated teachers who are excited about working with children. It is important for students to not only receive a solid education, but to work with someone who is aware of and sensitive to their individual needs. I work hard to encorporate rich, yet exciting activities into their every day experiences.
In June of 2012, I received a "Golden Apple Award", the highest honor and recognition from my district.
Earned Bachelors Degree in English Literature/Education in 2004. Earned Masters in Special Education in 2006. Earned 14 post graduate credits in Mathematics and 6 post graduate credits in Reading.
Since obtaining my masters degree in 2006, I have continued my professional development and graduate level coursework to further my education and better serve the students in my classroom. Due to the severe need for experienced teachers in the area mathematics, I am currently working towards my licensure, and to date have completed 14 post graduate credits. In addition, I have completed 6 post graduate credits in the area of reading. For me, teaching provides an opportunity for continual learning and growth. One of my hopes as an educator is to instill a love of learning in my students, as I share my own passion for learning with them.
