TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Last year was my first year teaching in Melrose, Massachusetts! I was a 1st grade teacher, and I LOVED every minute of it! I think I learned just as much, if not more, than my little ones! Next year, I will be making my way up to 3rd grade at the same school. While this is going to be a new challenge for me, I am ready to tackle the 3rd grade curriculum!

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style is relaxed yet structured. I am very proud of the fact that my classroom is deemed welcoming by all who enter it. My students feel as though I am their teacher, and also their friend, and that is all I could hope for!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

In 2016, I graduated from Emmanuel College (Boston) with my Bachelors in Elementary Education (1-6). Along with my Elementary license, I also received my Moderate Disabilities (PreK-8) license and my SEI Endorsement. After graduating, I went on to receive my Masters in Reading Education from Boston University in 2017. I began teaching 1st grade in 2017, and in May 2018, I received my license as a Reading Specialist (K-12). I am currently a Reading Specialist in Arlington, Massachusetts for their Extended School Year Program. As the summer winds down, I will be preparing to teach 3rd grade in Melrose in the Fall!
