This is my first year as a teacher. I'm constantly trying new things and making adjustments to my lessons. I don't have much actual teaching experience, but I bring experience in technology and freshness. I always aim to design the best lessons for my students and so my lessons differ from class to class. I like to allow my students as much input as possible so that they feel as though they have some control of their education.
I love group work, whether it be in learning centers or just students working together on reading and writing. My classroom is set up for discussion because that is what we spend most of our time doing. My lessons use the Common Core standards to enhance the amount of reading and writing that my students will accomplish. My students are allowed to be creative and expressive because I believe that they will learn more from one another if they are allowed that freedom.

B.S. in Adolescence Education (7-12) English and a B.A. in English from State University of New York at Oswego. M.S.ed in Literacy (5-12) from State University of New York at Oswego.
I just attended my first NCTE Convention in Boston and I have learned so much from that experience. My goal is to integrate young adult literature and multimodal literacies into my classroom. I'd appreciate feedback because it will help me to become a better teacher as I continue my journey through my first couple years in the profession.
