I am currently in my eighth year teaching at Dunwoody High School. I have taught Civics, World Geography, World History, United States History, Criminal Law, Sociology, Psychology, and Advanced Placement Psychology over the course of my career, but my specialization is in United States History and Advanced Placement Psychology.
I am a firm believer that students need to take a hands-on role in working with the content material. So, while I understand the importance of teacher-centered instruction in providing the basic information students need to know, I also believe that teachers should provide students with activities and lessons they engage students actively.
I have been recognized both as Dunwoody High School's Teacher of the Year as well as DeKalb County Systemwide High School Teacher of the Year.
I received my Bachelor of Arts in History from Oglethorpe University and my Master of Education from Georgia State University.
I am married with a 19 month old daughter and another child on the way.
