TEACHING EXPERIENCE

As a Occupational Therapist, I have worked for over 15 years in schools. I graduated from Tufts University and serviced pre-school levels through high school.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I think FUN equals LEARNING! My style is to break down challenging tasks into engaging smaller components and to master those skills first.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

When I moved from Massachusetts to California, I was devastated to leave my public school in Marshfield. At my first and only interview in Los Angeles, I was hired that day (I was ASTOUNDED by that)! My shining moment was when the interviewer told me he would be crazy not to hire someone as enthusiastic as I was. Of course, some days get me down, but I love kids and teaching and OT and I can't think of doing anything else!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I studied Occupational Therapy at Tufts University and loved it! Now I am applying to pursue a Doctorate Degree in 2018 in the Northeast.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

My objective as an OT is to pair academics with skill development. For example, when I work on fine motor skills, I like to pair this with math or reading (as I do in my series, KIDS MASTER FINE MOTOR SKILLS). I feel it is a win-win for children! Another area of interest is dyslexia. I am in the process of training in Orten-Gillingham. Visit my blog, KIDS MASTER SKILLS! Or Follow Me on FACEBOOK!
