TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught for 22 years- 11 years at a fabulous high school, 9 years at a phenomenal middle school, plus a few more years at some less-than-exemplary stints in various states and grades...I have taught EVERY grade except K and 1st! Recently, I moved across the country and am now a teacher at the ZOO! Seriously!!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I enjoy giving a great lecture, accompanied with PowerPoint slides and worksheets to keep students "at the right place, at the right time," engaged and learning. In recent years, LFS and Common Core have combined to thrust my classroom into a more student-interactive workshop. I have incorporated collaborative assignments, Flip camera projects and much more. Even so, a solid well-planned lecture with a first-class PowerPoint is still my favorite!

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am married to an United States airman. My oldest son (a Type One Diabetic who managed to win Homecoming King, Prom King and Teenager of the Year) is currently the Editor-in-Chief of his University's newspaper. My youngest children, twins, are following in their big brother's footsteps (hopefully not the diabetes part!). I have taught in fantastic classrooms and less-than so. I have been inspired and bored. I have taught professionals who have far surpassed me and criminals who are currently incarcerated. I thoroughly enjoy this life. I hope you find many items that will help you in your classroom. Kind Regards!- K
