I am a speech/language pathologist who has been working for over 15 years in the public school setting. I have spent the past 10 years in Early Childhood primarily working with the special education students. The disabilities I have worked with include Autism, Down's Syndrome, Fragile X, Cri du Chat Syndrome, apraxia of speech, just to name a few. I have really enjoyed making product and manipulatives that I can use with different themes that our classroom teachers are using. I also like to have cute and motivating worksheets that students can take home and practice with their families. I hope you find some of my materials useful!
In early childhood, speech therapy has to be very motivating. So I use a variety of teaching styles. We do hands on activities such as worksheets that require cutting and gluing (with assistance of course), interactive books, and gross motor movements help with attention. There are times when therapy requires "drilling" different concepts too.
