I have been an elementary school teacher for 18 years. I began my career teaching 6th grade and taught 2nd and 3rd grade for most of the last 15 years. I moved to 4th grade two years ago and am in love!!
As the students who come into my classroom each year have changed in their background knowledge and attitude, I have had to change my style of relating to them. The home life of many of my students is often filled with chaos and uncertainty. As a result, I have worked hard to become as organized as possible in my classroom. I strive to be consistent and my students know what to expect from me each day when they enter my classroom. As the mother of three sons, I know the benefit of structure and follow-through. This continues to be my goal each year.
