TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This is my fourth year teaching kindergarten and I absolutely love it! I currently teach at a KIPP charter school in an underserved community in East Los Angeles. Prior to working in East LA, I taught in Houston, Texas. I love teaching foundational skills because I have the unique opportunity to shape young minds from the beginning, and inspire a love of lifelong learning.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I focus on appropriate and developmental academic rigor, while also making sure that my students have fun learning and are able to grow their brains and hearts while in my class. I am committed to incorporating innovation into my classroom through the use of experimental, tactile and technology based learning.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I double majored in History and Political Science in college with the overall intent of making a positive impact on society. Through my study of the past, and with a look towards the future, I realized that I could make the most impact starting with our children -- after all, they are the leaders of tomorrow. I received my EC-6 credential and ESL supplemental certification in Texas, before transferring my credentials to California.
