I have been teaching Kindergarten for 5 years and love integrating new things into the instructional day each year. I have been fortunate enough to teach full day kindergarten in a Title 1 school. While it may seem daunting, at times, to the outsiders, even with more than 30 students every year, I still love the challenge and cannot imagine teaching any other grade, as of yet!
My teaching style reaches the many learning styles that are present in our classrooms. When I present concepts and skills to the little ones I ensure that I am presenting the information in various formats such as music and movement, centers, and conversations with peers. I also believe that with substantial opportunities to practice through engaging and fun ways will allow them time to master these skills with confidence.
I was honored by Office Max with the Outstanding Teacher award in October 2013 with the 7th annual A Day Made Better and AdoptAClassroom.org.
I received my Bachelor of Science in elementary education from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. I then went on to attain my Masters of Science in Early Childhood Special Education from Nova Southeastern University.
I was born and raised in the beautiful islands of Hawaii. While there is no place like home, Las Vegas has been nicknamed the ninth island and it is definitely a home away from home.
