I have been teaching since 1993 and will be teaching 4th grade mathematics for the first time this school year (17-18). I have taught kindergarten, first grade and third grade. I helped to write the curriculum for kindergarten and first grade for our school system (1997-1999) and I have mentored new teachers and many university students who are now teaching! I was a member of our local university's TIPS (Theory into Practice) group. This group was a team of 7 local teachers that worked with an early childhood professor and provided field experiences for students who were enrolled in early childhood classes. We would visit their class and assist with teaching some of their college classes. I have presented at professional development training sessions within my school district.
I enjoy creating hands-on materials for my students to use at centers. I like to try new activities and change things often!
