TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I spent the first two years doing RtI with elementary students, particularly Kindergarten. I then spent 3 years as a Kindergarten classroom teacher. Currently, I am teaching a full day Pre-Kindergarten program to Kindergarten bound students.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I feel strongly that students learn best in an environment that they have ownership in and feel safe in. It is always my top priority to maintain this atmosphere. Whether it is the first day of school or the last, my students know that this is "our" classroom, not mine, and that we are here to support one another and treat each other with respect. Kindergarten, in general, is a year filled with firsts, so it is imperative to create a classroom where students feel confident to try something new. We celebrate each others individual successes, as well as, classroom goals that are met. School should be a fun place to be, where we create lifetime learners.
