I have been a first grade teacher for 13 years in Washington State. I work in a Title One school with a high ELL population and a high mobility rate.
I strive to keep my students engaged through interactive games, centers and activities. I use the workshop model in my classroom for both reading and writing. I am trying to implement this same model for math as well.

I attended and graduated from Seattle Pacific University with my teaching degree. I earned my master's in Reading and Literacy from City University.
As we all know teaching takes up a lot of personal time; but in the spare time I do have, I love to cook, shop, craft and hang out with friends and family.
