Having taught in early education for the last 7 years, I’m hoping that Kits 4 Kiddies will provide an opportunity to share some of the work I have done beyond the walls of my classroom. I’m hoping that I can offer some useful advice and strategies for parents and other educators. I’m hoping that by sharing I can help others in the same way that so many people have helped me.
Hands On Noise Mess Laughter Organised choas! Every child in my classroom is special and so is their education. I love creating lessons and activities that appeal to kiddies at every level and style of learning, ensuring every child has the best opportunities to learn!
Every day provides a shining moment, which is part of the reason I started Kits4Kiddies. I love finding a way to get through to those who are struggling and help them at this young age when it is most important. I love seeing their little faces light up when a concept just clicks, or their smiles when they are having fun with something I have created or found here on TpT. My proudest moments are those when my students tell my they want to grow up to be a teacher just like me, just as I did with those special teachers who helped set me on this path.
My first position after graduating with a Bachelor's in Primary Education was at the remote school I attended as a child. There I taught composite classes of grades 3,4,5 and then Pre-Prep, Prep (Kindergarten) and grade 1. With my kiddies spanning the spectrum from those with learning disabilities to gifted I quickly learned the value of hands on engaging activities covering common concepts while catering to those at different levels. I have since moved to a much bigger school but these lessons continue to serve me well.
Hi everyone, my name is Angela and Kits 4 Kiddies is my project. While I might be based on the Sunshine Coast (that’s in Queensland, Australia for all our international visitors) I’m a small town, country girl at heart. A couple of years ago, my husband Ryan and I decided to try a sea change and although I dearly miss the slow pace, the country charm, the most picturesque sunsets and the stars (oh the stars!) I have grown fond of long walks along the beach with my best buddy Nixon while sipping my hazelnut latte, the green grass and plants, late night shopping and the occasional sunrise over the water.
