I have taught in Australian schools since 1988. I have spent that time teaching classroom and instrumental music in secondary schools. In Australia, this includes school years 7 - 12 which are children aged between 12 - 18. I began writing teaching resources full time in 2007 and have launched Klerrisa Custom Music - A business that provides quality resources for educators and entertainers. I currently work part time as a classroom music teacher and entertainer.
In Australia, classroom music teachers tend to use an integrated approach which involves focussing on a musical element and exploring that through composition, listening and writing. This approach is my prefered teaching style, however, my teaching resources explore a variety of different teaching styles. Some are organised in the FORMAT approach to assist the settling of students and some are self directed learning in groups.
I have received honours in my Bachelor of Arts Degree, Graduate Diploma Degree and Masters. I have received two "MO"Awards which recognise excellence in Live Performance.
Bachelor Of Arts in Music Performance and Education from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music in Australia. Graduate Diploma in Teaching Primary (yrs 1 - 6) and Secondary (yrs 7 - 12) Music. Masters of Music - Bassoon
