TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This is my 13th year teaching. I have taught at the elementary level for five years and have taught at the middle school level for the last eight years. I just completed my master's program in technology and curriculum. This will the the second year I have integrated "Bring Your Own Technology" (B.Y.O.T) into the classroom. Last year I was awarded the Bright Ideas grant and was able to purchase 7 iPods and 1 Apple TV for our classroom. I enjoy using new and innovative techniques in the classroom to help each student succeed and better their reading abilities.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I teach using a variety of learning styles including multiple intelligences and differentiation. This is my second year teaching in a Bring Your Own Technology (BYOT) classroom and I am learning how to integrate new technologies into my lessons everyday. My students are encouraged to log into Edmodo.com to check daily assignments and to get postings of daily PowerPoints, slides, and notes. This helps the students to be responsible for work they may have missed or need to complete.
