Bonnie: When I began my teaching career, I taught 6th-8th grade LA and Social Studies. From there, I became a special education assistant in a high school Chemistry/Physics classroom. I moved back into middle school for three years to teach 6th grade LA and Science. I have finally settled into what I hope is my "forever grade" this year: third! Third grade has been a great fit for me, and I love the age group. Greg: I began my teaching career as a Special Education teacher specializing in Math. I have co-taught every subject and teach two direct math classes for special education students.
Bonnie: I like getting to know my kids so I can make our conversations more personal. Because of my love of reading, I enjoy sharing books with my students and getting them into some of my favorite series. My classroom utilizes small groups during our literacy block, and I like that 4:1 time with my students so I can help them more intensely. Greg: I enjoy using real-world examples to help my students understand the math concepts I teach them. I love to read and am a history buff who loves sharing facts with my students. I love that I can share my interest in history and real-world math examples with such a diverse group of students.
None for teaching.
Bonnie: I went to Catholic school from kindergarten to 8th grade. I went to public school from 9th grade to 12th grade. I graduated from an all-women's, private, Catholic college in 2013. Greg: I went to public school from kindergarten to high school. I graduated from a top Indiana university in 2010.
We are a husband-and-wife team who enjoys sharing our knowledge with our students while raising our adorable son in Indiana. We taught at the same school for three years and even co-taught a class for a year! We are passionate about teaching, student safety, and reading. We have a book war going on right now (seriously, google "Knuth Book War") and it is awesome.
