I made this worksheet for my middle school students that required transitions. When this begins I start teaching my students with IEP's to read them and understand what their services mean. This is a good start to the basic components to their IEP

I used this foldable when teaching the vocabulary for scatter plots. The students had an easy time of taking notes and grasped the correlations quickly. Print double-sided for best results. Great to use with an interactive notebook.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a special education and response to intervention (RTI) teacher in a high needs school. Currently I co-plan with math & ELA middle school teachers and am primarily responsible for the corrective instruction by utilizing differentiation in the classroom. I have 3 years experience as a teaching assistant and am working on a Masters Degree in Teaching..

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am a hands-on teacher. In a small classroom I have a large amount of students that need to be able to use all of their senses to learn material. My lessons involve movement whenever possible and activating as many parts of the brain as we can to create muscle memory and retention.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I am a fellow in the The New Teacher Project and a member of Teach for America.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I hold a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Theatre with an emphasis in Stage Management. I am currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Teaching..

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

My background in Theatre has made the world of difference in the classroom. I want my students to be able to apply the thought processes they learn in the classroom to real life. Finding fun ways to engage them is important for me. Studies have proven that the more students have fun in the classroom the more they learn. The brain cannot learn in a high stress environment so my goal as a teacher is to find the fun and make class a little less stressful in an already stressful world.
