I have 14 years of teaching experience. I have taught 6th, 5th, and currently teach 4th grade. My teaching has been heavily focused on math, but I have enjoyed teaching social studies and science as well.
I often have my students work in small groups with task cards, and many of my activities focus on cooperative learning strategies. I believe that students can help each other and boost relationships and understanding. I also believe strongly in differentiating instruction and try to create resources that are differentiated.
Teacher of the Year 2016-17
I graduated from Indiana University in 2002, and received my Masters in Education in 2011 from Indiana Wesleyan University. I have mainly taught math in departmentalized grade levels, but I also love teaching social studies and science.
I currently live in Nashville, TN and teach 4th grade. I absolutely LOVE 4th grade! Many of my documents will be multi-grade level since I've taught 4-6 grade.
