I created this book for one of my reading centers. We were studying the suffixes -ed, -ing, -er, and -est. My students really enjoyed putting their books together. We still use them as references. They are great reviews for state testing time

This is a poem I wrote to help my students learn how to convert from one unit to another. I used it for my Customary Measurement unit, but the basic rules apply to any basic conversions. We did actions with the poem to help the students remember

These are songs to help my students remember the Customary Measurements of length, weight, and volume. They are all sung to the tune of "This Old Man" (or the Barney song hehe). I have them in the tables because we put them in our Pocket

I use these slips to let my students know what work I am missing from them. Sometimes I go ahead and staple the slip to a new copy of the assignment they are missing, especially if I am pretty sure they've lost it ;)

Getting ready for your upcoming time unit? Fear not! These time bars are great for understanding how much an hour is, for adding, and for subtracting time. I recommend printing them on card stock before cutting them apart and storing in zip-top

Our school uses Scholastic Reading Counts. I have my students set a points goal for the month. If they reach their goals, they earn a Book It! coupon (when in season) or a different prize. I use these desk tags to help keep my students on track.

This is what I give my students when we are intensively working on how to decompose and solve word problems. It really helps them break down the problems step-by-step. It's a great tool to train students to slow down and dissect problems. Best of

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This is my third year of teaching. I taught 3rd grade for 2 years and 5th grade math for 1 year. Next year I will be teaching 6th grade math.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style would be child-centered direct instruction . . . most of the time. I incorporate indirect instruction as much as I can! I also love using songs, poems, and movement to help enhance the learning of my students.
