I have been a teacher 10 years. I taught Kindergarten for 9 years. Currently, I am an intervention teacher working with students in Pre-k through 2nd grade. I absolutely love teaching children to read and watching them grow throughout the year! I taught vpk during the summer for three years. I was in charge of an after school tutoring program at the school level for three years and at the county level for one year. I love mentoring other teachers at my school and I present to pre-k teachers in our district about Kindergarten readiness.
I love having fun while learning. I want my students to feel safe, welcome, and loved when they walk into my classroom each day. We stay busy and learn a lot, but we have a good time in the process!
Rookie of the Year- 2007 Math Teacher of the Year- 2014/15
I graduated from the University of West Florida with a bachelors degree in Elementary Education and an ESOL endorsement in 2006. I went back to the University of West Florida for my Master's Degree in Reading Education and graduated from graduate school in 2011. I am also certified in Pre-Kindergarten education.
I love spending time with my family- my husband, our 3 year old son, and our 2 dogs. Shopping and eating out are two of my favorite things to do. I also love finding new ideas to use in the classroom.
