TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am currently a special education teacher in a Fifth Grade inclusion classroom in a public school on Long Island, NY. I previously taught First Grade in a private school on Long Island, NY and Fifth Grade special education in a public school in Queens, NYC where I rotated between the reading, writing, and math inclusion classrooms with my set class of 24 students (9 with IEPs). I also have experience in a 1st grade general education (10 ESL students), Grades 3-5 self-contained, and K-Grade 2 self-contained (Autism) classrooms from my college student teaching placements.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe in using mindfulness and yoga to create a community and as a form of classroom management. I am environmentally friendly and hope to make my students active citizens in their communities and schools. It is my goal to have my students leave my classroom at the end of the year as positive, conscientious, and mindful children.
