Founder, Managing and Program Director of a Boutique Music School in Bellevue, Washington, USA. After getting my Masters Degree, I had various different work experiences; I worked in the retail sector and started a retail business, I worked in the NGO sector doing community/communitarian/religious work and I also worked in the legal sector in an administrative position. After going through deep and profound life changes, I decided to dedicate my life to music and education. And I fell in love with teaching. As educators, we have the opportunity to heal, nurture, shape and empower the most precious resource, the human mind and spirit. I am truly grateful to have found my calling in life.
Picasso famously said, "Good artists copy, great artists steal." As a teacher, I draw from many different thoughts, ideas and methods. I try to expose myself to disciplines other than mine so that I learn from the pedagogy of each discipline. And when I come across a good idea, I am not ashamed to "steal" it! I find a way to apply that good idea into my own teaching context. As a result, the private piano lessons I give are far from the traditional way I grew up with. I see every teaching opportunity as an adventure, a science experimentation, a transformative moment. The most important thing, I believe, is SEEING the student--therefore, my goal is to be able to give the student what they need at the right time.
