Well, from preschool to first grade to kindergarten...now to central office! I am now an Instructional Coach and am truly loving my new position.
My classroom teaching style tends to learn toward small group/learning station-based activities. This enables me to differentiate my activities based on students' needs. The kids love that the activities are constantly changing. I love disguising learning as fun!
Presenter at the NCCTM (North Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics) yearly conference.
My original dregree was a Bachelor's of Arts in Speech Communication with a minor in Public Relations. After having children, I felt called to pursue a career in education. I began with a career in preschool education and transitioned to elementary education. I now have a Masters Degree in Elementary Education and ten years of classroom experience.
I have two children: one who easily acquires skills and knowledge and one who consistently struggles in academic pursuits. I strive to ensure that my lesson plans and activities are structured to meet the needs of all children.
