I have taught Special Education for the past 5 years and have grown up in the classroom since childhood. I have two wonderful children and am surrounded by children often.
I love allowing each student to be met where they are at and then encouraged to achieve more. I often have plenty of curriculum for teaching, yet often lacked fun activities to be completed weekly as a reward for working hard the rest of the week. My students seem to respond really well to doing art once a week, and thus would do a good job of working hard the rest of the week in order to earn this reward (and we got through so much more material than when I tried to do solid academics).
Yet to be added
I have a bachelor's degree in Child & Adolescent Studies and a Master's degree in Special Education, Mild to Moderate. I also regularly attend trainings and my own research so that I can continue to grow and be the lifelong learner that I strive for my students to become.
I have been fortunate enough to be married for 15 years to my best friend. I have two amazing children whom I adore and a heavenly Father who allows me to thrive when it would seem impossible.
