I have been teaching for the last 4 years in Washington State. For the last three years, I worked in a 2nd grade classroom. Prior to getting a contining contract, I subbed for a year in Kindergarten- 6th grade classrooms. I also did my student teaching in first grade.
My teaching style is a collection of a variety of different strategies and practices. It greatly depends on my students and their needs. I enjoy using games and hands on activities to help my students understand the topics and concepts we are learning. I try to provide a variety of different learning opportunities for my students. I love creating lessons and activities that keep my students engaged and exploring.
I am fairly new to the teaching profession so I presently do not have any Honors/Awards in this field. Hopefully, I will have the honor in the future.
I got my undergraduate degree in Art History in 2006. A couple years later, I went back to school to complete my Masters in Teaching degree in Elementary Education. In June 2013, I will begin to work toward getting my National Boards Certificate.
I am a 2nd grade teacher in Washington. I love helping my students discover reading and continue to build on their foundational skills.
