I taught middle and high school Language Arts and English successfully in Indiana for four years. In the summer of 2009 Austin, Texas became my new and permanent home when I began teaching and tutoring at a Korean learning center part-time. During my first year in Austin, I taught at a private Christian school that closed due to financial mismanagement. Since then I continue working with students at the learning center and as a resource English teacher at public schools in the area.
I am authoritative. I exhibit a warm and nurturing attitude toward my students and expresses genuine interest and affection. My classroom abounds with praise and encouragement. I often write comments on homework and offer positive remarks to students. I encourage self-reliant and socially competent behavior and foster higher achievement motivation. Often, I will guide my students through a project, rather than lead them.
