Teaching in the elementary school setting has been a love of mine for more years than I wish to count! I have enjoyed teaching students in the classroom setting beginning at the pre-school years all the way through fifth grade. Yet, I become most animated and energized when I am fostering the love of reading in my students of all ages!
I have been regarded by other educators as a highly energetic reading teacher who creates an educational atmosphere that encompasses self worth, individuality, creativity and intellectual development within my students. In doing so, I believe that teaching reading utilizing a balanced literacy approach gives each student the opportunity to develop their strengths and strengthen their weaknesses thus becoming confident, motivated and successful readers.
