I have been teaching ESL, Language Arts, Reading, Writing, and History for 32 years. In addition,I have worked in the following capacities: a Mentor Teacher ( 8 years), Master Teacher ( 3 years), Peer Assistance and Review and BTSA ( 3 years). For the past two years, I have been a Teacher on Special Assignment as a PLUS teacher to help implement the Common Core Standards and training new teachers in history and science. I have also been teaching ESL Reading at a college level for the past 22 years as an adjunct faculty member.. I have presented at various CATESOL Conferences both in California and Nevada on the subject of ESL teaching strategies.
I have always believed that students learn best when the four skills (reading, writing, speaking, and listening ) are taught together. I also see a lot of benefits of multi- disciplinary teaching. I am mindful of the importance of valuing the different types of learning styles the students bring to my classroom.

I love to travel the world and tremendously enjoy learning about different cultures. Thus far, I have traveled to many countries and have gained much insight into how different people are and yet how we also share so many of the same values that make us not so different.
