I have been teaching since 1996. I was lucky enough to find a job teaching 3rd grade in a rural school district right out of college. I taught 3rd grade for 2 years and was moved to 2nd grade where I have been ever since. There has been tears of frustration, tears of joy, good days, and bad. Days I wondered if I had chosen the right profession, and then days where I knew without a doubt it's what I'm meant to do. Luckily, there are more days like that than the other! Like probably all other teachers there are things about the profession that I would like to change, but in the end the reason I began teaching and the reason I will keep teaching is for the kids.
I like to make things fun and meaningful for my kids. I try to inspire interest and discussion in all of my lessons. I hope that I also show all of my students that I care about their education and that I care about them. I am always willing to try new things and love to see the excitement of learning.

I have a wonderful husband and an amazing 6 year old who never ceases to amaze me! I live in the country with 2 beagles, one cat, and one rabbit. I love to read, though I hardly have time to get a book started and I love to think about working on my scrapbooks!
