I have been teaching Spanish since 2003. I have taught in rural and urban settings.
I have a fairly traditional teaching style. I teach vocabulary, grammar and culture using many different methods. I like to include lots of opportunities for students to speak Spanish and interact with one another. I also enjoy doing lots of stories where students get to hear Spanish for an extended period of time. I offer many opportunities for students to write in Spanish and receive feedback. I begin by having more guidance with writing and as they progress I give them more freedom.

My parents are from Uruguay and always spoke Spanish at home. As a result, I have been speaking Spanish fluently since I was a small child. I have had many opportunities to travel to several Spanish speaking counties where I experienced the culture and practiced the Spanish language. I have been to: Spain, Mexico, Uruguay, and Argentina. Spain, Uruguay and Argentina I have visited several times and have been able to spend an extended amount of time there. I spent 6 months studying at the University of Valencia in Spain
